The Arab Union Contracting Company is a union joint stock company duly incorporated under law No. (6) of 1974 promulgated by the Presidential Council of Arab Republic Union. Under this law, the company enjoys the nationality of Great Jamahiriya with body corporate personality. The company's objectives are limited to practicing all construction works, contracting works and public works such as construction of housing units, hospitals, hotels, educational buildings, utilities, roads and other similar contracting works in addition to investing its money in manufacturing building materials, engaging in import and export operations and other commercial and manufacturing works directly related to attaining its objectives.
Since its incorporation, the company has performed several different projects in the field of contracting real estate investment and manufacturing building materials where the total value of said activity in Great Jamahiriya reached one milliard dinars.
In the field of contracting, several vital and different projects have been carried out in various parts of Great Jamahiriya such as housing units, hospitals, banks and sewage drainage and rainwater treatment networks.
At present, the company is engaged in executing several projects of which the following are the most important:
1- Completion of implementation of the project of No. 2870 housing units.
2- Surman Sewage Project.
3- Tajoura Cardiology Hospital Maintenance.
In investment field, the first phase of execution of Al-Fateh Tower Project, Tripoli, was achieved and execution of the second phase is underway.
In the field of building materials manufacture, the company now owns several plants for the production of building materials necessary for the implementation of projects contracted upon and to sell the surplus in the local market, these plants are as follows:
- Readymade concrete production stations.
- Precast buttresses plant.
- Two tiles manufacture plants.
- Cement bricks manufacture plants.
- No. 5 quarries for aggregate and derivatives plants.
